When Imperial forces attack the small border town of Bruhl, Welkin Gunther, son

Imagawa (Giant Robo, Bartender, G Gundam), it is based on Go Nagai`s long-
running and influential mecha series, the Mazinger series.
Developed from Japanium ore is the super energy, Photon Power. Seeking this
energy is Dr. Hell, a madman craving world domination who along with his
subordinates Baron Ashura and Count Brocken, commands the Machine Beasts
excavated from Bardos Island (believed to be Rhodes) to attack the Photon Power
Lab and take it for himself. Meeting the attack head on is our hero, the hot-
blooded teenager Kouji Kabuto who pilots the super robot Mazinger Z, constructed
by his grandfather Juzo and made from the strongest metal Chogokin Z. But in
this battle between Dr. Hell and the Kabuto family, many legends surrounding the
Mycenaean Civilization and Bardos Island, as well as the secrets of Mazinger Z
remain shrouded in mystery.
While the premise is similar to the original TV show, the staff insist that it
is not a remake or sequel and that it will develop into an all-new story, as
seen in the cast of characters which features many new faces. There is also a
significant number of characters and mecha from other Go Nagai series, such as
Zeus from Z Mazinger and the titular mecha of Groizer X.

Koh Kitamura is a fifth grader whose family runs a sporting goods store. One of

and she seems fully intent on marrying him when she grows up. All seems idyllic
in their world, until tragedy strikes. The story then skips ahead to four years
later, as Koh has continued the training he began four years ago, but has not
played in a baseball game since. As he finally begins playing again, it remains
to be seen whether or not he will live up to the expectations of those who know
the true talent he has been hiding all this time.

Synopsis

The software developer Ryukishi07 (Seventh Expansion) revealed on Wednesday that
the Higurashi no Naku Koro ni franchise`s first video anime series, the
Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Rei collection of side stories, will begin shipping on
December 26 on DVD and one month later on Blu-ray Disc in Japan. The first of
five volumes, "Hajisarashi," will be a gag story set in the municipal swimming
pool. The next three volumes, which will be the "Saikoroshi" arc, will be a
serious drama involving one of the story`s heroines after the resolution of the
two previous television series. This arc will be released between February and
June of next year. The final volume, "Hirukowashi" on August of 2009, will be a
slapstick romantic comedy based on a novel spinoff from the Higurashi Daybreak
game, which is being ported to the PSP.
Toshifumi Kawase, the series supervisor of the previous anime versions of
Higurashi, will direct the new series with new character designs from Kazuya
Kuroda (Chrono Crusade, Vandread, Spice and Wolf). Kenji Kawai will return to
compose the music. Funimation has taken over North American distribution of the
first Higurashi television series from Geneon Entertainment, but no announcement
has been made yet of future Higurashi anime licenses in the region.
