Ippo Makunouchi continues his boxing career and his goal on knowing the meaning
of being strong, and the desire on fighting his idol Ichiro Miyata once again.
Along him are pro boxers Takamura, Aoki and Kimura that each one of them aspire
to their own dreams.

The main character, Endou Mamoru, is a very talented goalkeeper and the grandson
of one of the strongest keeper of Japan (deceased before Endou`s birth). Even
though his skills are incredible his school lacks of a real soccer club as the
only 6 other members don`t appear very interested even in training. But as soon
as a mysterious forward called Gouenji moves to Endou`s town, the young
goalkeeper sets out to find and recruit members for his soccer team. There are
nearly 1000 playable characters with varying skills that will determine the
success of the team.

Taira Kappeita, or Capeta, was a 4th grader boy. He had lost his mother when he
had been very little. Although he pretended to be tough in front of his father,
actually he felt lonely. One day, his father brought junk parts home from his
workplace and made a racing cart. Soon, they went to a circuit to drive the
cart. However, Capeta found that its frame was bent and it could hardly run
straight. But, with his technique he managed the cart. Furthermore, he followed
soon after the fast cart and he could nearly leave it behind. The driver in the
cart was Minamoto Naomoi, the champion of the East Japan Junior Cart. Looking at
their chase, Naomi mother, Minamoto Nanako, advised Capeta to take part in the
official race.

Kazamatsuri Shou`s dream has always been to become a professional soccer player,
but he has one problem: he`s not very good at the game. He was accepted to the
prestigious Musashi no Mori Junior High, known for its top rate soccer team, but
he was never able to rise beyond the rank of third stringer. After transferring
to Sakura Jousui Junior High, he can finally play soccer. And, with the support
of his new friends and teammates, his strong determination, and lots of hard
work, his soccer skills are developing rapidly and setting Shou well on his way
to achieving his dream.
